A key requirement of any Greenroad should be smoothness. Studies have shown that trucks running on slightly smoother pavement could reduce fuel consumption by 4.5%.(Federal Highway Administration at WestTrack pavement test track in Nevada) Smoother pavements also reduce wear and tear on vehicles and drivers. Smoothness needs to be a base requirement of any Greenroad certified project.
